Job Description
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Operations leads the Republic Services’ infrastructure operational functions related to information technology with the primary responsibility being management of the Company's data and implementation of up-to-date solutions across the IT infrastructure. The Senior Manager, Enterprise Operations oversees technical staff, partners closely with senior management to propose improvements to the business infrastructure, and reports progress on various key projects while also ensuring reliability and scalability of the Company’s core systems to achieve availability and performance metrics critical to the business. In addition, the Senior Manager, Enterprise Operations ensures the Company's Data Centers, Data/Voice Networking, Storage, VM, Windows, Email, Active Directory services and associated systems run smoothly, perform within agreed upon targets, and provide a secure platform for the Company's business operations. The Senior Manager, Enterprise Operations also acts as a subject matter expert when the Company needs to find solutions to complex technical issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of data network transports including MPLS, IP using Frame and private line networks. • Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments. • Experience building, deploying, and managing network and application monitoring solutions that provide clear visibility into network traffic and performance. • Ability to manage distributed team that works from multiple locations including on-shore and off-shore locations. • Excellent leadership, project management, communications, coaching, and mentoring skills. • Ability to work effectively under deadlines, independently, and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making. • Ability to adapt to fast changing business needs and manage projects and priorities in a nimble and flexible manner. • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong technical, analytical, and problem solving skills. • Ability to interface with all functions and at all levels within the organization; able to coordinate cross-functional teams. • Ability to hire, develop, lead, motivate and retain a highly professional staff.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field. • Experience with Disaster Recovery, Resiliency Planning, and planning highly available solutions. • Experience managing 3rd party data center infrastructure, processes, and support to enable reliable and highly available services • Understanding of PCI/SOX requirements.

Principal Responsibilities
• Leads all data center operations, telecommunications, network systems, data center applications, client/server computing, and production operations support. Specific technologies of note include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Server & Client operating system and infrastructure applications, Cisco Voice and Networking, VMware, Citrix, Pure Storage, Hitachi and/or NetApp Enterprise-level SANs, Cisco Server infrastructures, and multi-carrier WANs. • Manages the efforts to identify and install system hardware and software purchases in accordance with Company policy. • Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the Company’s data and voice network that align with the overall strategy and growth of the Company. • Drives pro-active capacity management and performance management processes that meet business requirements in an environment of rapid growth and change. • Manages Republic’s data centers and server rooms to ensure core IT services can be provided in accordance with system and customer requirements for reliability, availability, and scalability. • Provides leadership and oversight for the enterprise storage and VM infrastructure platform, ensuring that performance and stability of the platform supports all application service requirements. • Drives standards and organization to ensure that data center, network, storage, VM, and Microsoft services are uninterrupted. • Directly manages a team of skilled analysts, engineers, and leads, providing management oversight, guidance, development, coaching, and leadership that results in a highly effective organization. • Provides technical leadership to protect the Company’s data and network systems using security best practice principles. • Ensures that all projects, initiatives, and support activities follow information security and business continuity/disaster recovery standards. • Defines and develops key performance indicators and measurements such as availability to ensure that SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met. Routinely gathers and reports on this information and develops procedures to improve quality of service. • Ensures systems and processes meet PCI/SOX standards and owns the controls that ensure compliance. • Analyzes the needs of the business and establishes priorities for network, storage, and VM platform design and implementation that will update and enhance the company’s networks and core IT services. • Coordinates delivery of services required by both internal groups and customer facing applications. • Participates in the establishment of departmental goals and implements procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; manages, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the activities of the Core Infrastructure team. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent. • Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise-level IT operations and support. • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience. • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing complex Microsoft infrastructures, Cisco data networks and core IT infrastructure in a highly available environment.
